Are you a manufacturing-minded operations accounting leader who's ready to be the financial partner on the plant floor, not just behind a desk? Do you want to lead operations accounting for a company that makes things that matter — real products and real engineering with real impact? We're looking for a Plant Controller to lead operations and manufacturing accounting for a well-established manufacturer of precision, mission-critical highly engineered products for the oil & gas industry. About Us DynaEnergetics manufactures perforating systems for the oil and gas industry from our manufacturing facilities in Blum, TX — including CNC-machined steel components, complex engineered assemblies, and explosive products, produced with extensive automation and custom-designed equipment. The Role As Plant Controller, you'll own manufacturing and cost accounting for the company — standard costs, inventory valuation, variance analysis, and monthly close — while serving as a true financial business partner to operations leadership. You'll lead a Senior Cost Accountant and Inventory accountant and work closely with the rest of the Finance and Accounting team on broader financial reporting and consolidation matters. The Plant Controller reports to the CFO with dotted line responsibility to the Corporate Controller and VP of Operations. What you'll do: Own the standard cost system, cost rolls, and BOM/routing accuracy in
SAP S/4HANA
Lead monthly close, COGS, and manufacturing variance analysis (material, labor, overhead, scrap) Manage FIFO inventory accounting, reserves, cycle counts, and physical inventories Partner directly with the Plant Manager and operations leaders on cost control, capital projects, and margin improvement Develop costing for new, custom-engineered products Lead and develop a Senior Cost Accountant and Inventory accountant What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA/CMA a plus 8-10 years of progressive cost/manufacturing accounting experience, including leadership in a plant controller or senior cost accounting role Manufacturing background required — CNC/machining, engineered/assembled products, or highly regulated manufacturing (explosives, aerospace, defense) strongly preferred Standard cost system and perpetual inventory experience Experience with fully integrated ERP systems with
SAP-S/4HANA
strongly preferred A hands-on style and comfort being on the production floor, not just in the numbers
Additional Details Location:
Blum, TX (south of Cleburne) — primarily on-site, with limited hybrid flexibility (~15-20%, depending on the time of year)
Travel:
Occasional — approximately 3-4 trips per year to other company locations
Pay:
$130,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
