In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of medications while providing exceptional patient care within a secure, non-public setting. Your expertise will support healthcare providers and patients through clinical pharmacy services, medication management, and comprehensive patient assessments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient health outcomes in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Our pharmacy specializes in long-term care and institutional pharmacy services utilizing advanced technology systems including bubble packaging, cycle fills, DOSIS automation systems, and Digital Rx pharmacy software. Position Type Full-Time Competitive Salary Benefits Available Located in Los Alamitos, California Responsibilities Dispense medications accurately using pharmacy software systems, ensuring compliance with all legal and safety standards Utilize and navigate Digital Rx pharmacy software for prescription processing, patient management, reporting, and workflow oversight Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapy and provide counseling when necessary Oversee and manage cycle fill operations and bubble packaging workflows Manage inventory levels efficiently, including ordering, stock rotation, and proper storage of pharmaceuticals Maintain detailed documentation of medication administration, patient interactions, and medical management activities within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Collaborate with healthcare teams on medical management plans, pain management strategies, and medication reconciliation processes Administer immunizations and provide patient education on medication use, side effects, and health maintenance practices Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times Work collaboratively with the Director of Pharmacy on operational initiatives and workflow optimization Utilize pharmacy automation systems including DOSIS machine workflows Review and generate pharmacy operational and inventory reports Support pharmacy technicians and assist with staff workflow coordination Participate in quality assurance and continuous process improvement efforts Assist with controlled substance oversight and documentation Must be able to multitask effectively and prioritize workflow in a fast-paced pharmacy environment Preferred Qualifications & Skills Active California Pharmacist License in good standing Experience with Digital Rx pharmacy software strongly preferred LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy experience is a plus Experience in long-term care, closed-door, institutional, or hospital pharmacy settings preferred Proven understanding of acute care procedures and medication management workflows Demonstrated proficiency in pharmacy software applications and EMR/EHR systems for accurate recordkeeping Experience with inventory management systems and medication supply chain processes Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations along with excellent patient service skills Ability to perform patient assessments effectively and contribute to multidisciplinary medical management teams Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Strong communication and problem-solving abilities Must be willing to work flexible schedules including evening shifts, day shifts, and weekends What We Offer Collaborative leadership team Opportunity to help shape and improve pharmacy operations Exposure to automation and advanced LTC pharmacy workflows Professional growth opportunities within a growing organization Dynamic environment focused on patient care excellence and operational innovation
