Duties Manage and process patient referrals from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Verify insurance coverage and benefits through insurance verification procedures Coordinate with medical offices to schedule appointments and follow-up care Maintain comprehensive medical records and ensure HIPAA compliance to protect patient privacy Utilize CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-10, and ICD coding systems for accurate documentation Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to resolve issues or clarify information Track referral statuses, update records regularly, and generate reports on referral activity Skills Strong knowledge of managed care policies and insurance processes Previous medical office experience, preferably in a referral or care coordination role Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and data security Proficiency in medical terminology, medical records management, and medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10) Experience with insurance verification procedures and documentation requirements Knowledge of dental office operations is a plus but not required Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively Join our team to make a meaningful impact on patient care by streamlining referral processes and supporting healthcare providers.
