Curry Health Center invites applications for a Dentist to be on-call and provide routine general dental care and treatment for patients in the absence of the regularly scheduled dentist. As the sole dentist, you will also be responsible for diagnosing and treating urgent dental conditions and handling all dental emergencies that may arise while working. The position oversees two (2) dental assistants and one (1) dental hygienist.

D.S or D.M.D. degree from a U.S. accredited dental school, and must be licensed to practice dentistry in the State of Montana Must be qualified and able to obtain a DEA license for the prescribing of medications Ability to perform most aspects of general dentistry and knowledge of current effective oral hygiene preventative care Working knowledge of normal anatomical landmarks and conditions of the oral cavity, dentition, and supporting structures Knowledge of radiographic equipment, how to take radiographic images, and ability to read and diagnose from radiographic images Must be able to recognize oral conditions that deviate from the normal, determine the etiology and pathological processes and establish a treatment plan to correct, eliminate or treat these conditions. Recognize when certain oral conditions may necessitate a referral to a dental or medical specialist Knowledge of general medical conditions that may affect patients overall oral health, and working knowledge of medications and their effect on oral health Knowledge of pharmacology and medications, specifically those a patient may be taking or those that the dentist may prescribe Ability to use computer software and hardware for taking and accessing patient radiographs, reading and diagnosing them, and documenting patient's condition and visit notes Ability to diagnose, and perform aspects of emergency/palliative dental treatment Knowledge of dealing safely with exposure to blood, pathogens, saliva and fluid aerosols, dental materials all day on a daily basis. This includes being able to work with mandated PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as masks, gloves, eyewear, gowns, etc. Preferred Qualifications Two (2) years of post-graduation dental practice experience, or minimum one (1) year of post-grad

General Practice Residency Work Schedule:

On-Call, 0.2 FTE, 12 months/year

Probationary Period:

Six (6) months minimum
