Cardiovascular Physicians of Delaware Medical Receptionist Location- Newark, DE at Abby Medical Center Job Summary The Medical Receptionist answers, documents and directs incoming patient calls and schedules appointments from the call queue in a professional and courteous manner. Responds to patient messages and referrals timely with exceptional customer service. Duties and Responsibilities Answers incoming calls from appointment queue and physician's lines. Schedules and reschedules appointments within the required time frame. Understands patient inquiries and gathers information to determine how to best handle patient calls. Registers new patient accounts in EHR system per company protocol. Responds to referrals from outside of our practice. Documents messages in EHR clearly and accurately to other staff and departments. Responds to incoming EHR messages timely per department guidelines. Gives instructions and practice information including what is required for patient's appointments. Provide excellent customer service at all times. Educational Requirements and Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. High volume medical call center experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of medical terminology. Computer knowledge EHR and/or EMR. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Finger dexterity to perform duties such as typing or writing. Ability to speak and hear. Expectations of all Employees Provides exceptional customer service to our patients. Exhibits professionalism and ethical behavior at all times. Maintains strict confidentiality of patient and business information. Maintains OSHA and HIPAA regulations. Works as part of the CPPA team and treats everyone with respect, courtesy and friendliness. Adheres to all policies and procedures for our organization. Recommend improvements to policies and procedures to management. Participates in committees, discussions and other team functions.
