Job Description

We are seeking an Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner for a 120-day assignment in Maine, commencing Oct 19, 2026. This role entails working four 10-hour shifts per week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, providing comprehensive urgent care for walk-in patients. The practitioner will manage a diverse patient population, including pediatric and geriatric patients, addressing a wide array of acute conditions and supporting primary care clinic overflow. Responsibilities and Duties Provide walk-in clinic coverage, including support for primary care clinic overflow. Assess and treat a diverse patient population, encompassing pediatric and geriatric patients. Perform injections and various diagnostic tests, such as COVID-19, strep, and upper respiratory panels. Manage common urgent care presentations including upper respiratory issues, wound care, tick bites, strep throat, diarrhea, knee pain, sinus issues, hives, and abdominal discomfort. Address urinary tract infections. Effectively utilize onsite lab and X-ray services. Coordinate transfers to the emergency room for patients requiring higher acuity care, such as those presenting with chest pain. Additional Information Board Certification in Family Medicine is required. The facility utilizes Meditech EHR. The role involves providing urgent care within a walk-in clinic setting.
