Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated PRN Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) to join our hospice team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals across various settings, including long-term care facilities, hospitals, assisted living communities, and home care environments. Responsibilities Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to promote independence and dignity Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature, accurately documenting all patient information in electronic health records (EHR systems) Support medical procedures by preparing patients and assisting healthcare professionals with tasks such as catheter care, wound care, or medication administration under supervision Maintain a safe environment by adhering to aseptic techniques, infection control protocols, and proper use of equipment like Hoyer lifts and other mobility aids Observe and report changes in patient condition or behavior promptly to nursing staff or physicians, especially in critical care or behavioral health settings Provide emotional support and companionship to patients with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other cognitive impairments to enhance their well-being Follow HIPAA guidelines diligently to ensure patient confidentiality and protect sensitive medical information Skills Proven experience working as a CNA in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including ICU, emergency medicine, trauma centers), nursing homes, or home care settings Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS) procedures Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms for accurate documentation Experience providing specialized care such as memory care (dementia/Alzheimer's), hospice support, or pediatric assistance is highly valued Ability to perform phlebotomy procedures when required and operate medical equipment safely and effectively Strong communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, social workers, and family members Demonstrated ability to handle infectious disease protocols and maintain aseptic techniques during patient care activities Join our team if you are passionate about delivering compassionate patient care with energy and enthusiasm!
