Job Description

Join Giant Eagle as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee in our in-store pharmacy, supporting pharmacists in delivering safe, friendly service to our guests. In this entry-level role, you'll assist with filling prescriptions, printing labels, organizing inventory, and processing insurance while learning pharmacy systems and regulations. You'll interact with customers at the counter, answer basic questions, and direct clinical concerns to pharmacists. Responsibilities Assist pharmacists with prescription filling and labeling under supervision Enter and verify patient and prescription information in pharmacy systems Greet customers, handle transactions, and provide front-counter support Process insurance claims and resolve basic billing issues Organize, stock, and rotate pharmacy inventory and supplies Maintain a clean, safe, and organized pharmacy work area Follow pharmacy procedures and regulatory guidelines Protect patient privacy and handle information confidentially Escalate clinical questions and concerns to the pharmacist Participate in required on-the-job training and skill development Required Skills Prescription data entry Medication labeling Inventory management Customer service Point-of-sale systems Insurance processing Basic pharmacy math Regulatory compliance awareness Attention to detail Communication skills
