Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Mobile Phlebotomist, where your expertise in specimen collection and patient care will make a vital difference in community health. This energetic role involves traveling to various patient locations to perform blood draws, collect specimens, and ensure accurate processing—all while delivering exceptional customer service. You will play a key role in supporting diagnostic testing and improving patient outcomes through precise and efficient specimen collection. Duties Travel to patient homes, clinics, hospitals, and community sites to perform blood draws and collect specimens using venipuncture and other laboratory techniques Ensure proper labeling, handling, and transportation of specimens following aseptic techniques and laboratory protocols Obtain vital signs and assess patient physiology to ensure safe collection procedures, especially in geriatrics and pediatrics populations Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, patient information, and specimen details within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems Follow strict safety protocols including basic life support (BLS) and CPR standards to protect both patients and staff during procedures Provide excellent patient service by explaining procedures clearly, addressing concerns with empathy, and ensuring comfort throughout the process Handle heavy lifting when necessary to transport supplies or specimens safely, adhering to proper ergonomic practices Requirements Proven experience with laboratory procedures, techniques, and specimen collection including venipuncture and blood sampling Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and clinical laboratory practices Prior hospital or clinical laboratory experience preferred; experience with pediatric and geriatric patients highly valued Certification in phlebotomy (such as CPT or equivalent) required; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification mandatory; CPR certification preferred Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for data entry and documentation accuracy Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and stand for extended periods during mobile visits Knowledge of aseptic technique to prevent contamination during specimen handling Strong attention to detail for accurate specimen collection, labeling, processing, and documentation Embark on a rewarding career that combines mobility with vital healthcare services.
