Job Description

Mercy is seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will perform high-quality CT imaging procedures, ensure patient safety and comfort, and collaborate closely with radiologists and multidisciplinary care teams. You'll utilize advanced imaging technology, follow established protocols, and maintain accurate documentation. Responsibilities Perform CT imaging exams according to established protocols and physician orders Operate and troubleshoot CT scanners and related imaging equipment Verify patient identity, review history, and explain procedures to ensure comfort and safety Position patients accurately and use appropriate immobilization and radiation dose reduction techniques Monitor patients during and after contrast administration, reporting adverse reactions promptly Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other clinicians to optimize diagnostic outcomes Ensure accurate documentation, image labeling, and use of
PACS/RIS
systems Maintain exam room cleanliness, equipment quality control, and regulatory compliance Adhere to infection control, radiation safety, and patient privacy standards Participate in continuing education and department quality improvement initiatives Required Skills CT imaging protocols Operation of CT scanners Radiation safety and dose optimization Patient positioning and immobilization IV contrast administration and monitoring Anatomy and cross-sectional imaging knowledge PACS/RIS and EMR systems Infection control practices Critical thinking and clinical judgment Basic life support (BLS)
