This position is ideal for someone who is organized, dependable, understands high-volume food production, and can lead a small kitchen team while maintaining consistency, quality, and food cost. Responsibilities Execute established recipes accurately and consistently Manage daily meal prep and production Ensure meals meet our standards for portion size, presentation, taste, and consistency Lead, train, schedule, and help hire a small kitchen crew Set daily production goals and keep the team on pace to meet deadlines Calculate and monitor food cost, recipe cost, yields, and portion costs Control waste and identify opportunities to improve profitability Manage inventory and properly order food and kitchen supplies Maintain appropriate par levels without over-ordering Receive and inspect deliveries for quality and accuracy Maintain proper food rotation, labeling, storage, and FIFO procedures Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen Ensure proper food handling, temperature control, sanitation, and food-safety procedures are followed Hold kitchen staff accountable for quality, cleanliness, productivity, and professionalism Communicate directly with ownership regarding production, inventory, staffing, food cost, and operational needs What We're Looking For We need someone who can take ownership of the kitchen, not simply follow instructions.
The right candidate should have:
Professional kitchen or meal prep experience Previous leadership or kitchen management experience preferred Strong understanding of food cost, portion control, inventory, and ordering Ability to follow and execute recipes precisely Experience with high-volume or batch cooking Strong organization and time-management skills Ability to lead and motivate a small team Knowledge of proper sanitation and food-safety practices Ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality and consistency Dependable transportation and reliable attendance Food Manager Certification preferred Schedule Daytime hours — no late nights. Approximately 4-5 days per week, depending on production needs. This is a hands-on leadership position. You will be cooking alongside your team while also managing production, food cost, ordering, inventory, sanitation, and daily kitchen goals. Compensation:
