Journeyman is looking for an energetic and charismatic Karaoke MC to lead the experience, keep the crowd engaged, and create memorable moments from the first song to the last. If you bring great energy, genuine hospitality, and a natural ability to entertain, we want you to help make every karaoke night unforgettable. •Hiring process will require an audition•
Basic Function:
The Karaoke MC (Master of Ceremonies) is the energetic face and voice of Journeyman's karaoke experience, responsible for creating an engaging, inclusive, and high-energy environment where guests feel comfortable getting on stage, singing, and having a great time. This role sets the tone for the experience, keeps the show moving, interacts with guests, and brings the personality and spirit of Journeyman to every performance. All team members must uphold and embody Journeyman's Core Values which represent the culture, attitude, and immediate priorities ensuring our cohesion and success.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES
Create an Unforgettable Guest Experience Welcome guests and establish an energetic, fun, and inclusive atmosphere. Encourage guests of all comfort levels to participate and make everyone feel like part of the show. Build rapport with guests through humor, conversation, enthusiasm, and genuine hospitality. Read the room and adjust energy, pacing, and interaction based on the crowd Own the Karaoke Experience Host and facilitate karaoke shifts and experiences from start to finish. Introduce singers, songs, and segments with confidence and enthusiasm. Manage the singer queue and keep the experience moving at an appropriate pace. Operate karaoke equipment, music, microphones, and other show-related technology. Troubleshoot basic equipment or technical issues and communicate larger issues appropriately. Step in to sing when needed to maintain energy, demonstrate songs, fill gaps, or keep the show moving. Be the Personality of the Show Bring a strong stage presence and natural charisma to every shift. Entertain between performances and keep energy high during slower periods. Interact appropriately with guests while maintaining professionalism and good judgment. Create memorable moments without making guests feel uncomfortable or putting them on the spot. Represent the Journeyman brand, hospitality standards, and core values throughout the experience. Support a Safe and Positive Environment Maintain appropriate boundaries with guests while still being approachable and engaging. Monitor the atmosphere and communicate concerns to management when necessary. Help maintain an environment that is welcoming, respectful, and enjoyable for both performers and spectators. Follow all Journeyman policies and responsible alcohol service expectations. The above list of essential job functions describes the general nature and level of work being performed in this job. WORKING CONDITIONS
Primarily evening, late-night, and weekend work. Must be comfortable working in a lively bar and entertainment environment. Must be comfortable standing, speaking, singing, and interacting with guests for extended periods. Must be comfortable working in a high-energy environment with amplified music and large crowds.
