The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a commitment to providing exceptional grooming services. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for the grooming and care of various pets, ensuring they look their best while also maintaining their health and well-being. This role requires both technical skills in grooming as well as strong customer service abilities to interact with pet owners. Duties Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling of pets. Assess the condition of pets' coats and skin, identifying any health issues that may need attention. Provide safe techniques using positive reinforcement to ensure pets are calm and cooperative during grooming sessions. Handle animals safely and effectively, using proper restraint techniques when necessary. Maintain cleanliness in the grooming area and ensure all tools and equipment are sanitized after each use. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' needs, grooming styles, and any potential health concerns. Assist in managing appointments and scheduling for grooming services. Provide excellent customer service to build rapport with clients and encourage repeat business. Communicate upcoming appointments to clients and rebook clients after each appointment. Requirements Proven experience in pet grooming. Portfolio / gallery of photos of your work must be provided. Strong positive reinforcement based , animal handling skills, including experience with various breeds and sizes of dogs. Knowledge of animal care practices, including the ability to recognize signs of distress or health issues in pets. Experience with heavy lifting as required when handling larger animals or equipment. Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with pet owners. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Compensation & Work Status This is a W2 position. This is NOT an Independent Contractor position. The candidate will be an employee of Barklandia and will be covered by Barklandia's liability insurance, worker's compensation, and will be paid through payroll bi-weekly. Compensation is a commission-based position with the potential to earn competitive income based on your grooming services.
