Job Description

County Line Veterinary Clinic is seeking an experienced full- or part-time Animal Groomer to join our New Braunfels, TX team in a 1099 role! If you know all about working with dogs and cats, gentle handling techniques, and professional grooming services, you could be the person we need. In this contracted position, your pay is directly impacted by your performance and the revenue you generate. The more pets you groom, the more you can make! You'll be working full- or part-time between the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Keep reading to learn how you can get started as our Animal Groomer!
ANIMAL GROOMER QUALIFICATIONS
We want to make it clear that this is NOT an entry-level position and that you need professional experience! Grooming your own dog or cat doesn't count. If you do not meet ALL of these requirements, your application will not be considered: 3+ years of professional, verifiable grooming experience Ability to show up consistently, be on time, and follow through with scheduled appointments Ability to lift animals weighing up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, safely use grooming equipment, and keep up in a fast-paced environment Comfort working with dogs and cats of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments Knowledge of humane handling techniques Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness Customer service mindset The following criteria would be preferred: Professional grooming certification 5+ years of experience in a veterinary setting Professional salon or veterinary grooming experience Low-stress handling experience Experience training and mentoring less-experienced team members
WHAT TO EXPECT
As our full- or part-time 1099 Animal Groomer, you'll be responsible for safely washing and trimming all kinds of dogs and cats to make their coats shine! As you work, you'll make sure to follow all protocols to keep the pets safe and comfortable. Here's a closer look: Thoroughly grooming dogs and cats, including bathing, brushing, trimming, nail clipping, and breed-specific cuts Communicating with pet owners about groom requests, service costs, pick up times, and any concerns you notice during the appointment Gently handling dogs and cats and patiently managing fearful and anxious pets Cleaning and sanitizing tools, equipment, and the grooming area Collaborating with your team and helping with additional tasks like scheduling
