Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant or Technician, where your passion for animal care and medical expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. Experience is preferred, but we are happy to train the right person. In this role, you will provide essential support in clinical procedures, animal handling, and client communication, ensuring a high standard of veterinary care. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, compassionate environment dedicated to animal health and well-being. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures including dental cleanings, radiology diagnostics, and surgical assistance. Perform animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, grooming, and maintaining cleanliness in kennels and treatment areas. Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques Prepare and operate medical equipment for diagnostics like X-ray imaging, laboratory testing, and anesthesia monitoring. Administer medications and manage veterinary critical care procedures. Support laboratory work including phlebotomy, sample collection, and processing diagnostic tests. Maintain accurate records using veterinary software Assist with pet care routines and client communication to ensure pet owners are well-informed about their animals' health needs. Skills Kennel experience with animal husbandry knowledge. Familiarity with veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy. Experience in veterinary critical care, emergency medicine, and anesthesia monitoring. Skilled in laboratory procedures such as phlebotomy and diagnostic radiology. Strong animal restraint skills Knowledge of veterinary surgical assistance techniques and medical equipment operation. Excellent client communication skills to explain treatments and care instructions clearly. Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments requiring critical & intensive care support.
