Position Overview The Safety Manager is responsible for managing the organization's safety initiatives, performing site evaluations, and managing risk assessments to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies, procedures, and training programs alongside leadership in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The Safety Manager collaborates closely with operational groups, field personnel, and leadership to promote a culture of safety, manage incident reporting, and learn industry details and best practices to drive continuous improvements in safety performance. The ideal candidate is results-driven and partners with all stakeholders to cultivate a positive, effective, compliant safety culture. Safety Manager Duties and Responsibilities Conduct regular jobsite inspections and safety walkthroughs to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions. Assist in developing Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), site-specific safety plans, and Method of Procedure (MOP) documents. Support the communication of safety notices, toolbox talks, safety alerts, and company-wide safety initiatives. Coordinate and deliver safety orientation for new hires and assist with ongoing safety training programs. Participate in quarterly field safety meetings and annual company safety events. Assist with incident investigations, including injuries, vehicle incidents, and near-miss events, and help document findings and corrective actions. Maintain safety records, reports, and compliance documentation, including OSHA logs and training records. Support the administration and continuous improvement of the company's Safety Program Manual alongside leadership. Monitor OSHA regulations and assist in implementing compliance updates as required. Assist with fleet safety initiatives, including: § Monitoring GPS and telematics reports § Reviewing vehicle inspection reports § Supporting driver safety coaching efforts § Addressing vehicle-related safety concerns Manage inventory and distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Conduct routine inspections of ladders, harnesses, lanyards, rigging equipment, and other safety-critical equipment. Support the SDS/Hazard Communication Program. Participate in jobsite safety walkthroughs with insurance and risk management partners. Assist with safety committee activities and safety incentive programs. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience 2-5 years of construction safety experience or related field experience Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field preferred OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required or ability to obtain within six months of hire Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safe construction work practices Safety Certification through the NASP or CSP equivalent (and ongoing safety education) In-depth technical knowledge of construction related OSHA, federal, state, and local regulatory standards, and ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement effective corrective practices Qualified to conduct training on construction equipment, including, but not limited to, Aerial lifts, Scissor Lifts, and Forklifts Strong desire to build a long-term career in safety leadership Ability to learn and apply safety regulations, policies, and best practices Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Preferred Qualifications First Aid/CPR certification Experience conducting safety meetings and training sessions Experience with aerial lifts, forklifts, or other construction equipment Knowledge of DOT regulations and fleet safety practices Other professional safety certifications or willingness to pursue them Competencies

• Proven judgment in evaluating and responding to complex workplace events and circumstances Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently work indoors but will regularly visit construction job sites and customer locations.

The employee may be exposed to varying weather conditions, active construction environments, and moderate to high noise levels. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb (including ladders), balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Travel Extensive daily travel by vehicle to visit customer locations and construction job sites during the business day within the Chicago metro area.

Salary:

$90,000 - $120,000 per year
