Job Description

Returning seasonal restaurant and kitchen in the Shelby/Silver Lake area looking for experienced line cooks to round out a great core staff. Very high volume and quick paced service needs more cooks to help meet the demand. Very competitive compensation and flexible schedule. Uncomplicated menu based on local, organic, and seasonal ingredients used in from scratch recipes. Applicants must be experienced in high volume kitchens, be able to read and follow basic recipes, maintain portion control standards, and have a strong culinary foundation. Responsibilities In this role as a Line Cook/Prep Cook, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen and the timely preparation of high-quality dishes.
Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Preparing ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring
  • Cooking and assembling dishes according to recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards
  • Assisting with food service during busy periods
  • Handling and storing food safely to prevent contamination
  • Utilizing your knife skills to efficiently and safely prepare ingredients
  • Collaborating with the culinary team to ensure a seamless kitchen operation
  • Contributing to menu planning and suggesting new dishes based on your culinary experience
  • Adhering to dietary requirements and restrictions, especially if you have experience in the dietary department
  • Assisting with catering events and serving guests as needed Your experience in the food industry and kitchen settings will be invaluable as you execute these responsibilities with precision and attention to detail.
