Fleet Service Technician / Emergency Delivery Driver to help keep our fleet safe, reliable, and on the road. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working on vehicles, is comfortable troubleshooting problems, and wants a job where every day can be a little different. When the fleet is caught up on maintenance and repairs, this position will assist our delivery operation as a fill-in/emergency delivery driver . Schedule Full-time Primarily based in Rigby, ID Typical work schedule is during normal weekday business hours, but flexibility is required as the majority of the fleet is operating Monday-Saturday. After-hours or weekend response will be required for emergency vehicle breakdowns, fleet inspections, and fleet repairs. Pay:
$20-$30/hour , depending on mechanical experience and qualifications Additional compensation may be available for extensive experience and certifications. Fleet Maintenance & Repair Responsibilities Perform routine preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles Perform oil and filter changes Perform fluid exchanges and fluid top-offs Inspect vehicles and identify potential mechanical problems before they become breakdowns Perform brake repairs and replacements Diagnose and repair basic electrical problems Diagnose and repair starting and charging system issues Replace batteries, belts, hoses, lights, sensors, and other common components Perform basic suspension and steering repairs Perform general mechanical repairs on gas-powered fleet vehicles Troubleshoot vehicle problems and determine when outside repair facilities are required Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance and repairs Inspect vehicles after repairs to ensure they are safe and ready for service Help coordinate outside repairs when a repair is beyond our in-house capabilities Maintain a clean and organized shop, tools, and work area Body & Cosmetic Repairs The ideal candidate will also be comfortable performing basic cosmetic and body repairs to keep our fleet looking professional.
Duties may include:
Minor dent and body repairs Repairing or replacing minor exterior components Bumper and trim repairs/replacement Touch-up painting and cosmetic repairs Headlight and exterior light replacement Repairing minor damage caused by normal fleet use Basic interior repairs and cleanup Vehicle detailing and general fleet appearance Emergency Roadside & Vehicle Recovery Because our vehicles operate throughout the Jackson, WY area, including mountainous and winter conditions, the ability to respond to vehicle breakdowns is an important part of this position.
Responsibilities may include:
Respond to emergency vehicle breakdowns Travel to Jackson, WY or other locations when a fleet vehicle becomes disabled Diagnose mechanical problems at the roadside Perform minor repairs that can safely be completed on location Determine whether a vehicle can safely return to service Arrange or perform vehicle recovery when necessary Tow disabled fleet vehicles back to our facility using a company trailer Safely load, secure, and transport disabled vehicles Assist drivers when they experience mechanical problems Work in a variety of weather and road conditions Emergency / Fill-In Delivery Driver Responsibilities When fleet maintenance and repair work is caught up, you will assist our delivery operation.
You may be asked to:
Fill in for drivers who are absent Cover emergency routes Assist with route recovery when operational issues occur Safely operate FedEx delivery vehicles Load, unload, and deliver packages Follow assigned routes and schedules Follow DOT regulations and company safety standards Safely operate large vehicles in a variety of weather and traffic conditions Assist with other fleet or delivery-related duties as needed Requirements Valid driver's license Must be 21 years of age or older Clean MVR without excessive speeding violations, reckless driving, DUI/DWI, or other serious driving offenses No felonies within the last 10 years Reliable transportation to work Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability Previous professional or significant hands-on automotive repair experience Ability to safely lift and handle vehicle components and equipment Ability to work independently and make sound decisions Good communication and organizational skills Must be willing to respond to emergency breakdowns when needed Must be comfortable driving in winter and mountain conditions Must be able to pass required background and drug screening Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of automotive or fleet maintenance experience Experience maintaining commercial or fleet vehicles Experience with Ford F-Series/F59, Ford Transit, GMC/Chevrolet Express, or similar gas-powered fleet vehicles ASE certifications Experience towing trailers Experience operating a vehicle/trailer combination Experience with electrical diagnostics Welding or fabrication experience Body repair experience Experience working on delivery vehicles or other commercial vehicles What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who can figure things out and get things fixed . You don't necessarily need to be a master technician or have every certification. We need someone who is mechanically capable, dependable, safety-minded, and comfortable diagnosing problems rather than simply replacing parts. Our ideal candidate can handle a brake job in the morning, troubleshoot an electrical issue in the afternoon, repair a damaged bumper, and jump in and run a delivery route when we're short a driver.
