Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical components across various heavy equipment and vehicles. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, suspension adjustments, and air brake system inspections. Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to ensure proper fit and function. Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and effectively during repair or testing procedures. Perform alignment checks, shocks & struts replacements, HVAC system repairs, and other specialized services to maintain vehicle safety standards. Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all repairs accurately for compliance and quality assurance. Qualifications Proven dealership or heavy equipment repair experience with a strong background in diesel mechanics. Mechanical knowledge of automotive systems including transmissions, suspension, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and electrical systems. Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics tools and schematics for troubleshooting complex issues. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other fabrication tools necessary for repair work. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working on large machinery or vehicles. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as excavators or cranes is highly desirable. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
