Maintenance Engineer / Supervisor Sester Farms is looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer / Supervisor to join our Maintenance Team.

Sester Farms is seeking an experienced, self-motivated maintenance professional with a strong electrical and controls background to lead and perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and improvement projects throughout our fast-paced wholesale nursery operation. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with electrical systems, motor controls, PLCs, VFDs, pumps, valves, and electrical troubleshooting , combined with the ability to lead a maintenance team, prioritize work, and solve problems effectively. Key Responsibilities Lead, coordinate, and participate in daily maintenance activities and projects. Provide hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of electrical, mechanical, irrigation, and production equipment. Troubleshoot and maintain 480-volt, 3-phase electrical systems , motor controls, 24-volt control circuits , electrical valves, PLCs, and VFD systems. Diagnose electrical and mechanical problems and develop practical solutions when the cause is not immediately obvious. Maintain and troubleshoot centrifugal pumps, irrigation systems, hot water heating systems, motors, controls, and related equipment . Prioritize maintenance requests and coordinate staff and resources in a fast-paced environment. Lead maintenance projects and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Obtain estimates for parts and supplies and coordinate purchasing as necessary. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of completed preventive and corrective maintenance work orders using a computer. Work closely with management and other departments to identify equipment issues and opportunities for improved reliability and efficiency. Help establish and maintain preventative maintenance schedules and procedures. Train, direct, and develop maintenance personnel while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and productivity. Qualifications Proven experience in a maintenance leadership or supervisory role . Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair experience. Experience with 480-volt, 3-phase electrical systems . Experience with PLC and VFD systems and electrical controls. Working knowledge of 24-volt control circuits and electric valves . Experience with pumps, motors, irrigation equipment, and related mechanical systems. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to find solutions when the answer isn't obvious. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to prioritize multiple projects and maintenance needs in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working independently. Must have a valid driver's license. Must have own basic hand tools. Spanish/English bilingual skills are a plus. Schedule Monday through Friday, with weekend and after-hours on-call responsibilities as needed. An alternating weekend schedule may be required.
Compensation & Benefits Salary:
$70,000-$90,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience. Benefits include Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, and 401(k). The current Maintenance Supervisor, who is also the founder of Sester Farms, will work closely with the successful candidate to provide a thorough transition and introduction to the operation.
