CNC Laser Operator sets up, programs, and operates computer-controlled laser machines to cut according to blueprints, performing inspections, routine maintenance, and ensuring safety protocols for manufacturing precision component production. Essential Functions Properly sets up tooling and laser for cutting operations Load materials, set laser power | speed | gas, and execute cutting|engraving programs Ensure laser consistently produces quality parts in the most efficient time Checks parts for quality and compliance with micrometers | calipers for accuracy Ability to programming CNC laser in G-Code Work with engineering to improve cutting operations Perform general preventative maintenance on machine Monitors usage on gases Adhere to strict workplace safety procedures Knowledge and | or Experience Must possess a minimum of 5 years of CNC laser experience with sheet metal Programming experience Blueprint reading, GD&T and basic math Use measurement tools Experience with Mitsubishi lasers preferred Tool and die making experience preferred Technical aptitude (CNC machinery, CAD | CAM, measuring tools) Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. High school diploma or technical certification often required. Experience in aerospace manufacturing, often with specific machine types Supervisory Responsibilities No direct supervisory responsibilities but must be able to conduct his | her day-to-day duties in a highly professional manner.
