Primary Purpose of Position To work within the engineering group under the direction of the CNC Process Leader to support production, maintenance and program launches on CNC and dedicated machining equipment focusing on process, productivity, quality and technology. Responsibilities Support in Design of work holding fixtures to be used in machining operations. Setup of tooling lineups for complete machining of metal castings Floor level problem solving activities champion Develop and enhance machine tool and equipment build standards in accordance with new technology, materials and best practices Education, experience, skills Technical diploma or above in mechanical or manufacturing Creating cutter paths from CAD geometry, 4 and 5 axis machining, horizontal and vertical Must have prior, demonstrable experience in CNC machining, tooling process, and maintenance fields with preferably five or more years of experience. Knowledge and understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing; layout is preferred. CAD/CAM, AutoCAD or other related computer graphics/drafting related experience would be an asset.
