•Systems Integration & Controls Technician Position Summary ComtineoAV is seeking a highly motivated Systems Integration & Controls Technician to install, configure, program, troubleshoot, and support integrated technology solutions for commercial clients. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality installations across a variety of technology systems, including: Low-voltage infrastructure Enterprise networking Audiovisual systems Live streaming systems Building automation controls Integrated security systems The ideal candidate has experience with network configuration, structured cabling, control system programming, live streaming workflows, audio and video signal processing, and Q-SYS platform deployment. This role combines technical programming, field installation, system commissioning, and customer support while maintaining ComtineoAV's standards for quality, safety, and professionalism . Essential Responsibilities Systems Integration & Installation Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot low-voltage cabling, including: Cat6 Cat6A Fiber-optic cabling Associated low-voltage infrastructure Install and commission commercial: Audiovisual systems Live streaming systems Building control systems Security systems Networking systems Mount and install integrated technology equipment, including: Displays Cameras Speakers Microphones Control panels Projectors Equipment racks Streaming equipment Other related devices Install and configure network-connected microphones, cameras, amplifiers, speakers, control devices, and I/O endpoints.
Read and interpret:
Blueprints Wiring diagrams Network drawings System schematics Project documentation Perform equipment rack fabrication, cable management, labeling, and documentation in accordance with company standards.
Safely and responsibly use company-provided:
Hand tools Power tools Testing equipment Ladders Personnel lifts Work safely from ladders, lifts, scaffolding, and elevated work areas while following OSHA and company safety requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area at customer locations and company facilities. Network Configuration & Systems Programming Configure and troubleshoot: Managed network switches Routers VLANs IP addressing Power over Ethernet devices Enterprise network infrastructure Configure network-connected audiovisual, live streaming, security, building automation, and control system devices. Program, configure, and commission integrated control systems. Develop, modify, and troubleshoot: Control logic Automation sequences User interfaces Configure room control functions for: Lighting Displays Projectors Motorized shades Cameras Audio systems Other connected devices Configure cloud-connected systems for: Remote monitoring Diagnostics Firmware updates System management Update firmware and maintain current software revisions across deployed systems. Configure network bandwidth, multicast, Quality of Service, and other settings required to support AV-over-IP and live streaming applications.
Diagnose issues involving:
Network performance Connectivity IP addressing Device discovery System communication Create and maintain accurate: Network diagrams Device inventories IP address schedules Programming documentation Q-SYS & Audiovisual Integration Deploy, configure, program, commission, and troubleshoot Q-SYS integrated systems, including: Q-SYS Core processors Q-SYS Designer Software projects Digital signal processing Audio routing and mixing Equalization and feedback suppression Audio processing Video switching and distribution AV-over-IP and networked media systems Live streaming and recording workflows Room control systems Touch panel user interfaces Lighting control integration Display and projector control Motorized shade integration Camera integration and control Microphone and speaker systems Networked AV endpoints Amplifiers and I/O devices Cloud management platforms Remote monitoring and diagnostics Firmware and system updates Configure, deploy, and support conferencing platforms, including: Microsoft Teams Rooms Zoom Rooms Google Meet Required Qualifications Three or more years of experience installing and commissioning commercial systems in one or more of the following areas: Audiovisual systems Control systems Networking Live streaming Building automation Security Low-voltage infrastructure Experience configuring enterprise IP networks. Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking.
Experience with:
Managed network switches Routers VLANs IP addressing Power over Ethernet Experience with structured cabling installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of commercial low-voltage installation practices and applicable safety standards. Experience programming or configuring integrated control systems. Experience configuring audio, video, conferencing, or live streaming systems.
Experience using:
Power tools Hand tools Testing equipment Ladders Cable certification tools Ability to read and interpret: Construction drawings Wiring diagrams Network diagrams Technical documentation Strong troubleshooting, organizational, documentation, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a project team. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Q-SYS Designer Software programming and deployment. Q-SYS Level 1, Level 2, Control 101, or higher certification.
Experience with:
DSP configuration Audio tuning Gain structure Equalization Acoustic troubleshooting Experience with Dante audio networking. Experience with AV-over-IP and networked video technologies.
Experience configuring:
Live streaming encoders Video switchers Recording systems Cloud streaming platforms Experience supporting multi-camera live productions. Familiarity with streaming and media transport protocols, including:
RTMP RTSP SRT NDI HLS
Experience with: Microsoft Teams Rooms Zoom Rooms Google Meet Experience with commercial security and access control systems. Experience with building automation or building management systems. Experience designing or configuring touch panel user interfaces. CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D certification. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. Manufacturer certifications in networking, control systems, audiovisual systems, security, building automation, or streaming technologies. Travel daily to Office/Shop in Valparaiso, IN or to customer job sites within a one- to two-hour radius of Valparaiso, Indiana , including locations throughout Chicagoland.
