Job Summary:

The Senior Equipment Service Technician is responsible for the safe maintenance, diagnosing, trouble shooting, repair, or replacement of agricultural equipment, vehicles, and implements, to ensure maximum production efficiency, while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company. This position reports directly to the Equipment Service Manager.

Essential Functions:

• Support the daily mechanic maintenance & repair of all agricultural equipment, vehicles, harvesters, sprayers, and farm implements
• Travel to field locations as needed to ensure proper maintenance of equipment.
• Diagnose problems and repair
• Maintain tools and repair equipment to clean, working condition
• Fabricate and alter special equipment
• Comply with all safety requirements
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

• High school or equivalent
• Valid Driver's License
• Diverse mechanical aptitude including diesel, gas truck and equipment repair.
• Prefer 3-4 years of mechanic experience and/or attendance in a mechanic program.
• Prefer experience with agricultural equipment (harvesters) and welding/fabrication.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a bonus but not required.

Other Requirements:

• Off-season hours are Monday-Friday; 8 hours/day with some flexibility.
• In-season (June-August) hours are 6 days/week; hours/day vary due to harvest conditions.

Overtime is common.

Work conditions:

Work conditions are normal for an agricultural environment. Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand, stretch, and bend for an 8-hour day. Must be able to work in confined spaces or in strenuous positions. The following of and adhering to Good Agricultural Practices is required.
