Job Description

Job Title:
CNC Machinist Job Description This role involves operating Citizen brand Swiss CNC machinery to support precision production in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment. You will interpret blueprints and schematics, perform machine changeovers, and troubleshoot minor production issues while collaborating closely with maintenance and production teams. Responsibilities Set up and operate Swiss CNC machinery to meet production requirements. Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to configure machines for specific jobs. Perform complete changeovers on CNC machinery at the controller Monitor machine operations and adjust settings to maintain quality and efficiency. Troubleshoot production issues and partner with the maintenance team to address minor equipment and process problems. Complete minor preventive maintenance on CNC machines as needed to ensure reliable operation. Essential Skills Experience setting up and operating CNC machinery, preferably Citizen brand Swiss CNC equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics for machine setup and production. Proficiency in CNC machine operation, including configuring and adjusting machine controls. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a lean, organized manufacturing environment. Comfort working with structured procedures and rotating between workstations as needed. Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality. Ability to collaborate with maintenance and production teams to support continuous improvement. Work Environment The environment is clean, climate controlled, well-lit, and highly organized, with each employee assigned their own station or rotating between stations where all tools and materials are neatly arranged. This opening is on 2nd shift, and the overall setting supports structured, efficient production in a modern, technology-driven manufacturing operation. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elgin, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
