$23.00 - $28.00 per hour (DOE)
Schedule:
Full-time | 40-50 hours/week | Overtime available Who We Are We are teaming up with a local steel fabrication company specializing in structural steel for high-voltage transmission and substation infrastructure. As the largest producer of steel lattice towers in the Pacific Northwest, they take pride in technical precision, integrity, and commitment to quality. Their fast-growing team is safety-focused and collaborative, providing an environment where craftsmanship and performance matter. What You'll Do CNC Machine Operation Operate and set up CNC equipment, including AngleMaster systems, Beamline, and Burn Table machines for cutting, drilling, punching, coping, and marking structural steel. Load and verify CNC programs, select the correct plasma tips and drill tooling, and confirm machine setup prior to production. Operate dual AngleMaster systems, validating program files and confirming finished parts meet customer specifications. Run the
Drill Line:
downloading and reviewing production files, comparing them to customer drawings, and making necessary adjustments for accuracy. Quality & Production Produce and verify first articles, ensuring proper beam marking, hole placement, and dimensional accuracy. Inspect finished components using calipers, micrometers, blueprints, and fabrication drawings to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards. Utilize CAD software to review, modify, and correct production files when necessary. Collaborate closely with programmers to resolve drawing discrepancies, optimize machine programs, and improve production efficiency. Equipment & Maintenance Perform routine machine maintenance and preventative inspections. Troubleshoot mechanical and technical issues on equipment and coordinate with their Service Department for repairs or on-site service when needed. Material Handling & Workflow Operate overhead cranes and forklifts to safely load and unload raw materials and finished products. Coordinate with material handlers to ensure materials are staged ahead of production, minimizing downtime and maintaining continuous workflow. Participate in daily production meetings to coordinate staffing, machine assignments, and production priorities. Adjust operator assignments based on workload and job complexity to maximize efficiency and quality output. Leadership Train new CNC operators on multiple machines, production workflows, quality expectations, and safety procedures. Support a collaborative, safety-first work environment while assisting teammates in meeting production goals. What's In It for You Comprehensive benefits package, including: Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance 401(k) with company match Paid Time Off (PTO) Tuition reimbursement Overtime opportunities Career growth and advancement A team-oriented, safety-first culture What You Need to Have High school diploma or GED 4+ years of CNC machine operation experience in structural steel fabrication Experience operating Peddinghaus CNC equipment (AngleMaster, Burn Table, Beamline) preferred Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining parameters Experience loading, verifying, and troubleshooting CNC programs Ability to read and interpret blueprints, customer drawings, and fabrication prints Experience using CAD software to review and modify production files Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments Familiarity with structural steel grades, tolerances, and fabrication processes Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods The Musts English language proficiency Ability to commute to or relocate to Clackamas, OR before starting Strong commitment to OSHA safety standards and safe work practices Ability to work overtime as production demands require Preferred Qualifications Forklift certification and overhead crane operation experience Experience with SigmaNEST or similar CNC programming software Vocational or technical training in machining or fabrication Leadership or training experience in a manufacturing environment Next Steps Ready to apply?
