We operate both a large batch system and a conveyor line. This position will require management of production scheduling, staffing, workflow, documentation, quality-control follow-up, stamping, packaging, and shipment readiness. The Production Manager will work closely with our Technical and Coatings Supervisor, who is responsible for equipment and coating application. The Production Manager will be responsible for people, priorities, workflow, accountability, and accurate production information. Primary Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain daily and weekly production schedules for the batch system and conveyor line.
  • Assign employees and labor based on workload, due dates, equipment capacity, and production priorities.
  • Oversee workflow from receiving, blasting, pretreatment, masking, racking, coating, and curing through QC, stamping, packaging, and release.
  • Conduct brief daily production meetings and provide clear work assignments.
  • Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, performance, and training needs.
  • Coordinate closely with the Technical and Coatings Supervisor on application requirements, equipment issues, color changes, cure schedules, defects, and rework.
  • Ensure travelers, drawings, purchase orders, counts, mil readings, QC records, photographs, and completion information are accurate and complete.
  • Maintain traceability and separation of customer parts throughout production.
  • Manage stamping, labeling, wrapping, packaging, palletizing, and shipment-readiness processes.
  • Keep production status and scheduling systems current through accurate computer data entry and employee follow-up.
  • Identify bottlenecks, shortages, delays, and staffing needs before they affect customer commitments.
  • Track production output, rework, overtime, downtime, packaging backlog, and on-time completion.
  • Provide ownership and office staff with accurate daily status information.
  • Enforce safety, PPE, housekeeping, material-handling, and documented process requirements.
  • Help recruit, onboard, train, cross-train, and evaluate production employees as the department grows. Required Qualifications
  • At least three years of manufacturing, industrial production, or closely related operations experience.
  • At least two years of experience leading or supervising production employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize daily work, manage changing priorities, and hold employees accountable.
  • Strong attendance, reliability, follow-through, and employment history.
  • Comfort using computers, spreadsheets, shared files, email, and production-tracking systems.
  • Ability to read work orders, purchase orders, production travelers, and basic technical drawings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with production employees, office staff, customers, and ownership.
  • Ability to work in an active industrial environment around heat, powder, blasting, pretreatment, ovens, and moving equipment. Preferred Qualifications
  • Powder coating, industrial finishing, metal fabrication, OEM manufacturing, or paint-line experience.
  • Experience with batch coating systems, conveyor lines, pretreatment, surface preparation, or cure processes.
  • Experience with quality-control records, mil-thickness testing, production travelers, ERP, MRP, or job-tracking systems.
  • Experience starting or managing a second or overlapping production shift.
  • Continuous-improvement, 5S, safety, or forklift experience.
Pay:
$25.00 - $27.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 - 45.0 per week
