Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive occupational therapy services in a school setting. Your expertise will support individuals of all ages (PreK to Grade 12) in a school—with a focus on enhancing their functional independence and quality of life. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology, along with experience working with people with disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and those requiring post-acute care. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact through patient-centered care and collaborative case management. Duties Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to develop personalized care plans. Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to promote independence. Implement therapeutic interventions tailored to individual needs in various settings such as inpatient units, outpatient clinics, schools, or home health environments. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including speech therapists, physicians, nurses, and educators—to coordinate effective treatment strategies. Facilitate discharge planning by preparing patients for transition back to home or community settings while ensuring continuity of care. Manage case documentation accurately and maintain detailed records of patient progress and treatment outcomes. Educate patients and their families about therapeutic exercises, adaptive techniques, and safety precautions. Participate in program development initiatives focused on early intervention, geriatrics, occupational health, or specialized populations like those with autism or disabilities. Support compliance with healthcare regulations and standards through diligent documentation and quality assurance practices. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with advances in occupational therapy practices and related fields.
