•The Village Community Presbyterian Church is seeking a Soprano Section Leader to provide musical excellence, spiritual leadership, and strong vocal support within the Chancel Choir. This role is ideal for a trained soprano with strong sight‑reading skills, a confident solo voice, and a heart for Christ‑centered worship. About the Role The Soprano Section Leader offers professional musical and spiritual leadership to the soprano section and the full choir, helping foster spiritual growth, joyful worship, and loving fellowship. As stated in the position description, the role exists to "provide professional musical and spiritual leadership to the assigned Chancel Choir section and the full choir." This position supports the church's mission of Following Jesus for Life by helping singers grow in worship, musicianship, and Christian community. Responsibilities Attend and sing at weekly choir rehearsals. Sing at Sunday morning rehearsals (45-60 minutes before service) and remain through the conclusion of each service. Participate in Village Community Chorale rehearsals and concerts. Sing for additional services, concerts, and recitals as requested by the Director of Worship. Perform solos and small‑ensemble pieces at the direction of the Director of Worship. Lead and manage the soprano section, including seating charts and voice‑part assignments. Record vocal parts or practice tracks as needed. Communicate with section members and report relevant matters to the Worship Director or Worship Coordinator. Maintain accurate hourly reports and timecards. Qualifications Strong choral skills and the ability to blend effectively with the section. Confident soprano solo voice with strong vocal proficiency. Excellent sight‑reading and music literacy. Ability to follow a conductor with precision — "Demonstrate strong choral skills, including the ability to follow a conductor and blend effectively with the section." Formal music training; music degree preferred. Commitment to leading others in worship and praise. Ability to use an iPad with forScore or similar music software.
