•The Village Community Presbyterian Church is seeking a Children's Choir Director who is passionate about nurturing faith, musical excellence, and Christian community in young singers. This part‑time role (4 hours/week, year‑round) provides spiritual, artistic, and educational leadership for our Children's Choir Ministry, helping children grow in worship, musicianship, and joyful service to Jesus Christ. About the Role The Children's Choir Director leads all aspects of the Children's Choir Ministry, creating a Christ‑centered, welcoming environment where children learn to worship through music. This position reports to the Director of Worship. Key Responsibilities Provide spiritual, musical, and educational leadership for the Children's Choir Ministry. Recruit, welcome, and retain children and families; foster strong relationships with parents, volunteers, and staff. Teach age‑appropriate vocal technique, music literacy, choral skills, and worship leadership. Plan, rehearse, and direct anthems, musicals, seasonal programs, and special worship offerings. Select and evaluate music, curriculum, and resources that support ministry goals. Prepare children to participate confidently and meaningfully in worship services. Coordinate rehearsals, schedules, communications, and ministry activities. Collaborate with the Director of Worship and other church departments to strengthen the Children's Music Ministry. Support the mission of the church by helping children develop a lifelong love for worship, music, and Christian community. Qualifications Personal commitment to Jesus Christ and alignment with the church's mission and Reformed/Presbyterian tradition. Strong interpersonal skills, integrity, sound judgment, and a positive, team‑oriented attitude. Ability to work well with children and create a nurturing, encouraging environment. Formal training in music (degree required). Musical leadership and basic conducting skills with children. Highly organized with excellent communication skills. Ability to work within the schedule set by the Director of Worship. Cooperative spirit and willingness to collaborate across ministries.
