Job Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented professional to fill a combined Permit Technician / Plan Review Coordinator role. In this position, you will support both the permitting and plan review processes by reviewing and processing permit applications, guiding applicants through permitting procedures, and ensuring compliance with zoning and building codes. You will also coordinate with internal departments to keep workflows running smoothly. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, a solid understanding of permitting regulations, and experience with permitting software and record keeping.
Requirements Responsibilities:
Support the Building, Planning, and Engineering Divisions by processing a variety of permits and development applications from start to finish. Review permit applications and related documents for completeness and accuracy, determining readiness for further review. Guide customers — including local government agencies and the general public — through the permit application process with outstanding customer service. Calculate, collect, and document fees associated with development project applications. Track, update, and maintain electronic permit files and development review records. Coordinate with internal departments to ensure workflows stay on track. Answer incoming calls and direct code and development-related inquiries to the appropriate team members. Assist with general clerical functions, including filing and maintenance of development review files. Take on additional duties as needed to support the team.
Requirements Qualifications:
Prior experience in customer service and administrative support is required. Experience in the permitting, building, planning, or engineering industry is a strong plus. Familiarity with building plans, codes, ordinances, and related terminology is a bonus — but we're happy to train the right candidate. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications; comfortable working in a digital, paperless environment. Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and records management.

Monday to Friday • 8am - 5pm 4LEAF, Inc. offers a competitive hourly rate of $25.63 - $31.30 , commensurate with experience and qualifications.
