Works with school teachers and administrators to address problems that affect student performance, and identifies resources for students and families. Helps high school students to plan academic course work and advises on the college search and application process.

Job Description

The Youth Academic Professional will provide direct academic support to members during after-school programming and assist with creating a positive and engaging learning environment.
Primary responsibilities would include:
Provide homework assistance and academic support during Power Hour. Work directly with members individually and in small groups. Assist with facilitating academic enrichment activities and designated Academic Department programs. Encourage member participation, academic confidence, and positive learning habits. Support program transitions and help maintain appropriate supervision of members. Prepare and organize materials needed for daily academic activities. Help maintain an organized and welcoming Power Hour and Academic Department environment. Communicate member needs, concerns, and progress to the Academic & Career Development Coordinator. Participate in staff huddles, training, and department planning as needed. Support additional Academic & Career Development activities and events as assigned.

$18.02 per hour
