Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students in a vibrant educational environment. This position focuses on providing specialized social work services to K-5th grade students, offering a chance to make a meaningful impact on young learners and their school communities. The assignment begins as soon as possible and is expected to continue through November 4th, 2026, with potential for extension.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Illinois SSW license and Professional Educator License (PEL) Prior experience working as a social worker in school settings Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with staff, students, and families Ability to assess and address student needs through individual and group interventions Organized, flexible, and committed to confidentiality and professional ethics
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver school social work services to elementary students, grades K-5, in a supportive, inclusive setting Conduct assessments, develop intervention plans, and provide counseling as needed Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to promote student achievement and well-being Participate in student support and special education teams to develop individualized student plans Respond to crisis situations and provide short-term interventions Maintain accurate records and prepare required documentation Advocate for students social, emotional, and academic needs within the school This is a full-time, onsite role with consistent hours from 8:00 AM to 3:35 PM, enabling you to engage directly with students and colleagues in a collaborative environment.
