Job Description

Step into a dynamic contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a School Social Worker in a welcoming educational setting. This role is designed for passionate professionals ready to make a positive difference in the lives of K-5th grade students, providing essential social-emotional support and fostering a nurturing school environment. This position is based entirely onsite, with a full-time weekday schedule from 8:00 AM to 3:35 PM, and begins as soon as possible, extending through November 2026, with potential for renewal.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate:
Valid Illinois School Social Worker (SSW) license and Professional Educator License (PEL) Prior experience supporting students in a school setting Comprehensive understanding of child development and school-based intervention strategies Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with students, families, and staff Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding professional ethics Key responsibilities include: Delivering direct social-emotional services to K-5th grade students to address diverse needs Conducting assessments and developing intervention plans Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and specialists to design and implement student support strategies Engaging with families and community agencies as needed to enhance student well-being Facilitating small groups, crisis interventions, and classroom guidance lessons as appropriate Supporting positive school climate initiatives and contributing to multidisciplinary teams This is an outstanding opportunity to expand your expertise and impact young lives in an elementary educational setting, with the security and flexibility of a contract role.
