Are you looking to be part of a compassionate, patient-focused care team? At NMC Health, we're proud to set an award-winning standard for healthcare in the Wichita Metro Area. We are currently seeking a Surgery Scheduler Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in coordinating surgical scheduling while promoting positive guest relations and delivering exceptional customer service. You will work closely with both internal teams and external physician offices to ensure timely and accurate scheduling, authorizations, and pre-certifications for surgery and diagnostic testing. This role is ideal for someone highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled in medical terminology and communication. You will help maintain smooth surgical scheduling operations that directly support patient care and satisfaction.
Key responsibilities include:
Coordinating surgical schedules and maintaining the patient surgical scheduling system Providing high-level customer service and supporting positive guest relations Obtaining medical and cardiac clearances, medical records, and pre-authorizations for surgery and diagnostic testing Assisting with authorizations and pre-certification processes Collaborating with physician offices and internal departments Demonstrating strong organizational skills and attention to detail
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required Associate Degree or greater preferred Physician office experience including coding and prior authorization preferred Surgical scheduling experience preferred
Experience:
1-2 years of relevant experience preferred
Knowledge & Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word Competent with fax and copy machines Strong knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures Ability to think critically and problem-solve Licensure, registration or certification: Registered Medical Assistant, Surgical Tech, or LPN preferred Join our Team! NMC Health offers a family friendly environment with the latest technology and a knowledgeable staff.
