Job Description
Overview Join Our Growing Healthcare Team! We are seeking a professional, customer-focused Front Desk Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and healthcare partners. This position plays a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations of our medical practice by providing exceptional customer service, managing patient scheduling, supporting billing and authorization processes, and maintaining efficient office workflows. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a medical office environment while maintaining a welcoming and professional demeanor. Duties Serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service both in person and by phone. Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments, recalls, referrals, and specialty consultations. Perform patient check-in and check-out processes, update demographics, verify insurance and authorizations, and collect co-payments and self-pay balances. Maintain accurate electronic medical records by scanning, filing, and processing patient documents, referrals, medical records, lab results, and correspondence. Support billing and office operations through payment posting, cash reconciliation, deposits, and insurance-related administrative tasks. Manage incoming mail, faxes, and communications, ensuring information is distributed promptly to the appropriate staff. Assist providers and clinical staff with administrative coordination, paperwork preparation, and other office support functions. Operate office equipment, maintain organized records, and perform other duties as assigned to support efficient practice operations. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of two years of receptionist, customer service, or medical office experience. Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills. Knowledge of medical billing, collections, insurance verification, and authorization processes preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
