Our program follows a Reggio Emilia-inspired philosophy , creating a child-centered environment where children learn through play, exploration, relationships, and meaningful hands-on experiences. Because this is a mixed-age classroom, the ideal candidate will be comfortable supporting children at different stages of development. You'll create opportunities for younger and older preschoolers to learn alongside one another while adapting activities, expectations, and guidance to meet each child's individual needs. Responsibilities Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment Plan thoughtful provocations based on children's interests, questions, observations, and developmental needs Provide open-ended materials that invite children to explore, experiment, create, and solve problems Use children's ideas and interests to guide classroom projects and learning experiences Plan developmentally appropriate, play-based activities Adapt experiences for children of different ages, abilities, and developmental stages Encourage independence, creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking Observe and document children's learning and developmental progress Arrange the classroom environment as an active part of the learning process Build respectful, nurturing relationships with children and families Maintain consistent classroom routines while remaining responsive to children's needs Support positive behavior using patient, age-appropriate guidance Work collaboratively with other teachers and center leadership Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, licensing compliance, and active supervision Communicate professionally with families about their child's day and development Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development What We're Looking For A genuine love for working with preschool-age children An understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices Interest in Reggio Emilia-inspired, child-led, and play-based learning Creativity and enthusiasm for planning meaningful classroom provocations The ability to confidently manage and engage a mixed-age group Patience, flexibility, dependability, and strong communication skills The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Previous experience in early childhood education preferred CDA, early childhood degree, or related coursework preferred Ability to meet all Indiana childcare licensing requirements, including required background checks, health documentation, and training About Sprouts At Sprouts Early Learning of Evansville, we believe children thrive when they feel safe, valued, and free to explore. Pay:
