Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into an impactful role supporting middle school students as a Special Education Teacher in a welcoming school environment near Englewood, CO. This full-time contract opportunity runs from February 2024 to May 2024 and is ideal for passionate educators with expertise in differentiated instruction and the IEP process.
Key Qualifications:
Active Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Education Teacher License with Generalist Endorsement (5-21) required Professional Teacher License should explicitly indicate the correct endorsement for Special Education Generalist (5-21) Proof of application necessary if endorsement is in progress; not accepting temporary, substitute, or interim licenses unless proper application is documented Experienced in instructional practices, specialized instructional strategies, and supporting students on alternative standards In-depth knowledge of the full IEP lifecycle and demonstrated history of effective collaboration with IEP teams Not open to virtual or hybrid arrangements—this position requires on-site presence
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the unique learning needs of middle school students with disabilities Design and implement Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) with a focus on individual education plan (IEP) objectives Collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure comprehensive support Collect and interpret student data for ongoing academic and behavioral progress monitoring Facilitate and participate in IEP meetings, contributing as a knowledgeable and resourceful team member Maintain thorough documentation in line with district and state guidelines This position offers you the chance to make a meaningful contribution to students' academic and personal growth within a supportive school community.
