Taylor University is seeking applications and nominations of distinguished candidates to teach in the Department of English and ModernLanguages. This is a tenure-track position beginning August 2027. Duties andResponsibilities The successful candidate will teach Foundational Core courses, including bothCollege Composition and survey literature (World, American, and/or British), as well as upper-level literature courses as needed. Expertisein Shakespeare and British Renaissance preferred, Victorian and Modern British also welcomed. Scholarly activity, professional service,student advising, faculty governance responsibilities, and chapel attendance are also required. Additionally, participation in departmentalassessment and accreditation efforts are expected. Typical Qualifications APhD in English with a literature emphasis and a strong record of previous teaching experience is required. Candidates must also have apersonal, vibrant faith and Christian walk, and be strongly committed to the educational mission and evangelical Christian orientation ofthe University. Supplemental Information The English and Modern Languages Department hasnine full-time faculty members. The department offers English concentrations in Creative Writing, English Literature, and English Educationas well as majors in Spanish and Spanish Education. Department faculty also supervise the University Writing Center as well as two literaryjournals: Parnassus , an undergraduate journal of art and Creative Writing, and Relief Journal , a national journal offaith and writing.
