Job Description

Make a real impact supporting students in a center-based elementary setting for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract position provides the opportunity to teach a dynamic class of around 11 students in the special education program, with a focus on emotional or behavioral disorders. Based near Andover, MN, you'll play a crucial role in designing and implementing individualized plans to help each student reach their fullest potential. What we're seeking: An active Minnesota PELSB Special Education Teaching License (Tier 1 and Tier 2 considered; Tier 3 and 4 preferred) Licensure specifically in Emotional or Behavioral Disorders (EBD) Proven commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments Experience in developing and adapting curriculum for students with diverse needs Strong organizational and communication skills to collaborate with school staff and families Dedication to staying current with best practices and compliance in special education Key responsibilities: Provide instruction and support to a caseload of approximately 11 elementary students in a center-based classroom Create, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers Maintain thorough documentation and comply with state and federal guidelines Offer behavioral and academic interventions tailored to each student's unique strengths and needs Engage actively with families to support student growth and progress This contract runs from ASAP through June 3, 2027, with a full-time, 40-hour week. The position is located on-site (virtual placements are not considered), and provides the chance to build lasting impact over several years in a supportive setting.
