Job Description

Make a difference in the lives of students by supporting their educational journeys as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired. This contract opportunity runs from December 7, 2026, through June 11, 2027, and covers grades K-12. Working 30-32 hours per week, you'll collaborate with schools in Jackson, Josephine, Douglas, Klamath, and Lake Counties, either providing services in-person or virtually (VOCO), depending on your availability and preference. Your expertise will foster independence, academic success, and participation for students with visual impairments. Qualifications:
Valid Oregon TVI (Teacher for the Visually Impaired) Certification/Licensure required Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments preferred Ability to travel within assigned counties as needed (or provide VOCO/virtual instruction) Strong communication and organizational skills Passion for inclusive education and adapting curriculum for accessibility
Responsibilities:
Assess student needs and design individualized education plans (IEPs) Deliver instruction in core academic and life skills for students with visual impairments Support general education teachers and staff with accessibility strategies and accommodations Consult and coordinate with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams Maintain thorough records and compliance with state/IDEA requirements Utilize assistive technology and adaptive tools to maximize student participation
