Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Bring your passion for supporting students with visual impairments to a rewarding contract opportunity serving K-12 learners across Southern Oregon. This role engages students in-person or through virtual instruction, working with diverse caseloads throughout Jackson, Josephine, Douglas, Klamath, and Lake Counties from December 7, 2026, through June 11, 2027. You will play a crucial part in helping students access curriculum and reach their educational goals.
Qualifications:
Must hold valid Oregon TVI (Teacher of the Visually Impaired) Certification or Licensure Experience supporting K-12 students with visual impairments Strong communication and organization skills Comfort with both in-person and virtual/VOCO service delivery models Ability to work independently and manage a dynamic caseload across multiple counties
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct and consultative services to K-12 students with visual impairments Collaborate with general and special education staff to develop and adapt instructional materials Conduct functional vision assessments and design individualized education plans (IEPs) Travel across assigned counties (as needed for in-person services) Maintain detailed documentation and ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations Empower students and families by promoting independence and advocacy skills This contract position offers an engaging schedule of 30-32 hours per week, flexible enough to support your preferred teaching style—in-person or virtual.
