Key Qualifications:
A minimum of 1+ year of direct experience working as a paraprofessional in a special education classroom (PreK-12) specifically with children diagnosed with severe autism and complex behavioral needs Must reside within a 35-minute commute of the job site Demonstrated comfort and capability with safety interventions and crisis behavior management Comfortable providing comprehensive support, including toileting, feeding, transfers, and de-escalation of aggressive/self-injurious behaviors Availability for a full-time weekday schedule, 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM (orientation week: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM; attendance is mandatory) At least one of the following: 48+ college credits, an associate degree, or a completed state/local paraprofessional assessment—or willingness to complete PA's certification process within 60 days
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized instructional and behavioral support tailored to students with moderate-to-severe autism Implement behavioral and safety plans as directed by instructional teams Facilitate daily living skill development for students, including personal care and social skills Engage proactively during all class activities, transitions, and routines
