Job Description

Step into a crucial role supporting students with significant needs in a highly structured educational setting. This contract opportunity offers hands-on experience as a Paraprofessional specializing in severe autism support, assisting within either a high school or elementary program. Assignments are based on availability at the time of placement.
Key Qualifications:
Minimum of 1+ years of experience as a paraprofessional in a school special education classroom serving students with severe autism and significant behavioral needs; this must be clear in your resume. Comfortable working with students who may exhibit aggressive or self-injurious behaviors and implementing safety interventions as part of a highly structured behavioral team. Ability to assist with all aspects of daily care, including toileting, diapering, transfers, and feeding as needed. Must reside within 35 minutes of the assignment location and possess reliable transportation.
Availability for a full-time schedule:
Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM 3:00 PM (or 8:00 AM 3:30 PM). Completion of a mandatory orientation week prior to starting. Must meet Pennsylvania paraprofessional qualification requirements or be willing to obtain certification within 60 days.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct classroom and behavioral support to students with severe needs. Work collaboratively with teachers and team members to follow individualized education plans and safety protocols. Maintain active engagement and supervision throughout the school day. Assist with physical and personal care routines as required. Uphold a positive and respectful environment while implementing safety interventions consistently.
