Job Description

Step into a vital role supporting students with moderate to high-intensity needs by joining a dynamic paraprofessional pool serving K-12 classrooms in the Levittown area. This contract opportunity calls for professionals experienced in delivering hands-on support and behavioral interventions within special education environments. With regular openings due to high turnover, your commitment and readiness can lead to immediate assignments in various local schools.
Key Skills & Requirements:
At least 1 year of experience as a paraprofessional in a PreK-12 special education classroom, specifically supporting students with severe autism and behavioral challenges. Comfort with direct, hands-on tasks, including toileting, diapering, feeding, transfers, and overall personal care. Proven ability to manage and de-escalate aggressive or self-injurious behaviors while maintaining a safe environment. Familiarity with MDS, ADL, AS3, and behavioral protocols. Must reside within 35 minutes of the specified area and be able to work a full-time schedule, adjusting start/end time between 6:45 AM and 4:01 PM as needed. Willingness to attend a full, mandatory orientation week prior to assignment. Must meet at least one Pennsylvania paraprofessional qualification (listed below), or be ready to obtain certification within 60 days of starting.
Responsibilities:
Support students in both 1:1 and structured group settings, implementing individualized behavioral safety plans. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support teams to address educational and functional goals. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of interventions and student progress. Assist with daily living skills and provide compassionate support throughout the school day.
