Associate Director of Engineering Classification:
Salaried Exempt Position Summary The Associate Director of Engineering is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the engineering department, ensuring that technical programs align with company growth and cost-control targets. This role bridges the gap between executive strategy and factory execution, overseeing the Product Engineering team to ensure New Product Introduction (NPI) success, optimal resource utilization, and high-quality technical support for customer demands. Responsibilities Drive the execution and continuous improvement of engineering programs to meet company goals, maintaining strict oversight of departmental cost controls. Lead the allocation of manpower and technical assets to maximize team utilization and operational efficiency. Manage the Engineering team to ensure the successful development and transition of New Product Introductions (NPI) into mass production. Ensure the accuracy, quality, and timely delivery of programming and technical documentation to the manufacturing floor. Standardize engineering processes and leverage data systems to enhance decision-making and project tracking. Sustain high-level technical relationships with customers, acting as a key partner in driving business demand and identifying new opportunities. Facilitate regular technical reviews and performance reports for both executive management and key customer stakeholders. Lead cross-functional initiatives to resolve technical bottlenecks and ensure engineering output meets both company goals and customer specifications. Qualifications A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial) or a related technical field is required. Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive engineering experience, including at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or management capacity within a manufacturing environment. Direct experience in semiconductor precision manufacturing, with a strong understanding of NPI (New Product Introduction) workflows. Deep understanding of the semiconductor industry, including market information, product cycle times, and emerging technologies. Proven track record of managing new and existing project execution, setting goals, and following through on complex project plans. Mastery in overseeing the capacity and quality of technical quotations (RFQs) and ensuring the precision of programming submissions to manufacturing. Demonstrated success in managing engineering teams to ensure the successful transition of products from development to mass production. Ability to lead and organize cross-functional teams to ensure technical resolutions meet company goals and customer demands.
