Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Remote Accounting Staff member to join our finance team. In this role, you will support our organization's financial operations by managing accounting processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and maintaining accurate financial records. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization while developing your expertise in diverse accounting functions within a dynamic healthcare environment. Responsibilities Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries and account reconciliations using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or PeopleSoft Prepare and interpret financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and account analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support organizational decision-making Support internal controls compliance including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements and assist with audits and regulatory reporting Collaborate with team members on technical accounting issues such as accrual accounting, securities law compliance, and governmental accounting standards Qualifications Proven experience in corporate or non-profit accounting with a strong understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and financial statement preparation Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero or PeopleSoft; experience with Microsoft Excel is essential Knowledge of GAAP standards, SOX compliance, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), and regulatory reporting preferred Familiarity with financial analysis tools such as cash flow analysis, account reconciliation techniques, and budget management Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills; ability to interpret complex financial data accurately Effective communication skills for financial report writing and interpretation; mentoring experience is a plus Ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating effectively with team members Join us in making a difference by supporting the financial backbone of a caring organization committed to improving lives through dedicated healthcare services!
