Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our team in Los Altos, California. In this long-term contract position, you will play a pivotal role in leading budget development and administration while ensuring compliance with fiscal management principles, organizational policies, and relevant state regulations. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with various stakeholders, analyze complex financial data, and provide valuable insights to support decision-making.
Responsibilities:
  • Act as a key advisor to administrators and staff regarding budget development processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct detailed financial analyses, including variance analysis and financial modeling, to review, audit, and reconcile budgets.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports featuring narratives, financial interpretations, and actionable recommendations.
  • Research and analyze financial and statistical data to identify trends and provide insights to management.
  • Create and present financial documentation, including reports for Board of Trustees meetings.
  • Process budget adjustments, journal entries, and accruals, ensuring compliance with financial standards.
  • Monitor expenditures and fiscal activities, addressing potential issues and recommending corrective actions.
  • Provide technical expertise to program managers and staff on budget-related matters, including changes and transfers.
  • Maintain and ensure the accuracy of data management systems, generating specialized reports as needed.
  • Identify and resolve complex budgetary and financial challenges through thorough analysis and forecasting.
