This full-time role is designed for an experienced HIM professional ready to oversee all aspects of medical records management and privacy compliance in a dynamic healthcare setting.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. 40 hours per week In this position, you will: Direct day-to-day management of the Health Information Management Department, including medical records, coding oversight, release of information, and chart completion processes Serve as the designated Privacy Officer, managing the organization's HIPAA privacy program and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards Lead privacy investigations, breach assessments, audits, reporting, and ongoing education for staff on HIM and privacy matters Develop, implement, and maintain HIM and privacy-related policies, procedures, and quality control processes Oversee departmental operations—including operations, staffing, productivity, budgeting, and regulatory compliance Collaborate closely with Compliance, IT, Finance, Registration, Administration, and clinical leaders to maintain effective workflows and mitigate confidentiality risks Respond to privacy incidents, conduct investigations, and implement corrective actions in partnership with
Human Resources and Compliance Desired Skills & Experience:
Minimum of two years' experience in medical coding; previous HIM leadership and regulatory experience strongly preferred In-depth working knowledge of HIPAA, privacy, confidentiality, and health information regulations Recognized healthcare privacy, compliance, or HIM certification preferred (or willingness to obtain one) Exceptional critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills Associate or bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred
Compensation:
