Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Aide to join our healthcare team. The Medication Aide will work closely with nursing staff and caregivers to support the health and well-being of our residents. Duties Administer prescribed medications to residents according to established protocols and guidelines. Maintain accurate records of medication administration, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor residents for any side effects or adverse reactions to medications and report findings to nursing staff. Assist in the preparation and organization of medication carts and supplies. Collaborate with nurses and medical staff to ensure continuity of care and address any medication-related concerns. Educate residents and their families about medication regimens, potential side effects, and the importance of adherence. Participate in training sessions on medical terminology, medication administration procedures, and the use of electronic health record systems such as Cerner. Qualifications Certification as a Medication Aide or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting. Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospital environments is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology and medication administration practices. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team. Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. Prior experience in caregiving or working within a medical office setting is a plus.
